Facit 4021 papertape reader
UvA Computer Museum catalogue nr 98.21
The Facit 4021 is a Swedish made (1974) papertape reader, reading
up to 300 characters per second. It is built for heavy industrial
use (like numerical control of tool machines). Bidirectional
operation is possible. It uses optical reading but can nevertheless
read tapes that are almost transparent, and independent of ambient
light.
The drawing has been taken from the reader's Technical
Description. The reader has been in use at the Physics Laboratory
of the University of Amsterdam.
