Hewlett & Packard computer/calculator model 9835A
UvA Computer Museum catalogue nr 99.69
The 9835A has much resemblance with previous machines from the 98xx series in our collection; with its highest model number, it also looks the
most like a computer. The pull-out reference cards (underneath the
monitor) make a manual almost unnecessary. Our machine is equipped
with firmware modules for plotting, mass storage, I/O and assembly
language development, mounted in small drawers (in the picture just
visible in the front of the machine).
Like with most of our HP machines, the cassette tape drive is
inoperable due to deterioration of the capstan. For this machine, we have neither documentation nor (model-specific) software.
This machine was donated by Dr. W. Vree. It has been used at
the "Meetkundige Dienst van Rijkswaterstaat", a Dutch governmental
institution.
