IBM PS/1-2011 microcomputer

UvA Computer Museum catalogue nr 16.05

ibm ps/1
The IBM PS/1 was targeted specifically at the consumer market. From the PS/1 range (see the Wikipedia description), we have the first model, introduced in 1983. It is based on the 80286 CPU and has 1024 kB of memory, half of it on a small card, plugged-in at the front of the system unit (behind the front bezel). The power supply is located in the monitor; an external cable (apart from the VGA cable) brings 32 V DC to the system unit where a DC-DC converter produces the voltages needed by the electronics. The optional 30 MB harddisk is also present in our PS/1, as well as the optional ISA adapter card unit (with its own DC-DC converter), fixed on top of the system unit proper.
This PS/1 is in good working order. The computer came with the full IBM Assistant Series (software and manuals): Filing, Reporting, Planning, Graphing, Writing.
This computer was donated by Mr. J.R.I.M. de Wolff, Lekkerkerk (NL)
